Should Traefik be in this list as well since it does do Docker Swarm discovery. |
Traefik is already on the list under Networking :). |
There's also some stuff that @collabnix has listed here that we may be missing, and I also want to give them a shout-out as they had their list first, and is a great Docker Captain and Community Leader. It might be worth making a section of people to follow for Swarm content and updates. |
I personally don't have experience with swarmlet, but I see this popping up every now and then. |
I had an RIP project but a few people have forked it as well to set up volume plugins. https://github.com/trajano/docker-volume-plugins this is prior to CSI and the advantage is had multiple end point support from GlusterFS, CIFS, S3FS and also has a generic CentOS mounted volume. |
Do the plugins in there still work? If yes, this would be something I think we should add. |
I haven't looked at the code for a while. Creating a glusterfs setup is too complicated. But I saw people forking it off to update to their needs. Maybe one of the forks will rise up and we can replace it, but I am not sure which one is actively maintained. |
Thanks for the info @trajano. Technically, official Awesome Lists are not supposed to include dead/archived projects, but we're kinda in a special case here where (in some eyes) Swarm is "back from the dead." 🥹 So, I added the RIP section at the bottom for notable projects that many people remember or that are maybe dead/archived but still work. We can always add context in that line of why it's still included... but yea, remember this is a "Awesome" list, so it should at least be validated that it's still useful for people before adding. |
I haven't been attending your weekly @BretFisher due to time. But I do hope the
comes back up. |
I have a fork from @trajano docker volume plugin repo with some adding:
|
@marcelo-ochoa This is awesome news and I think I stumbled across your repo a while back even since your handle seems familiar. Would you like to create a PR? |
@s4ke Sure, I'll do ASAP. Marcelo. |
Thanks for keeping it alive @marcelo-ochoa I no longer use GlusterFS so it's good that you were able to take it over. |
I stumble upon this repository a while back and might try to implement next month https://github.com/cuigh/swirl , looks like it is still somehow maintained and will tinker around with the autoscaling feature |
I updated the issue description to include all links to interesting projects we have not confirmed yet. This should help visibility without breaking the "awesome contract". |
Are they still useful, can someone try the out and validate they are still "awesome"?
