I realized that the problem is that the backupUser thunk is called in PendingConnectionScreen when the connection is not yet added to redux store:

When openning the BrightID client itself once again, all of the connections are shown because it fetches all the connections from BrightID node in the Home Screen.

Now the question is that since we have access to the connections from BrightID node, do we even need to include them in the Backup service? We need it for photos and names
