decompressing big data files

Hey

This is more of a question than a bug report so ...
I need to read a very big data file (50-500GB) that uses snappy compression (to be on the same page ... the data is stored in chunks and a chunk contains 3 bytes of data, in the beginning, describing the length of the chunk)

can I achieve this using this package? in case the answer is positive can u give me a link to some kind o a similar use case or docs?
