Hey there @firefoxOnFire Heroku? Hm, I have not explored that for BrowserBox, at least not in an environment where root is unavailable. If this is what you want, and Heroku supports it, your best bet would probably be the BrowserBox Docker Run Script. Please see the readme for the latest version and usage instructions, but I've copied the current snippet snapshot below! 😄 bash <(curl -s https://raw.githubusercontent.com/BrowserBox/BrowserBox/boss/deploy-scripts/run_docker.sh) 9999 my-browser.example.com me@example.com For a bit of extra clarity, root is not required to run BrowserBox, but it is required to install it on the system. If you're inquiring about using Heruko dynos, I'm pretty sure that particularly cloud technology is not a fit for BrowserBox because of the extensive integration with the host system that BrowserBox requires — at least more extensive than provided by the lightweight Heroku Dynos anyway. On the other hand, if you're interested in getting a free tier BrowserBox deployment up and running: that is very much possible. Free tiers that may be available on AWS, GCP, Azure and Oracle provide enough resources to sustain a modest BrowserBox instance at moderate usage. But, that being said, if you'd like to browse content that is a bit more demanding in terms of CPU or Memory, you'll have better luck with a bigger instance! 🚀 That being said, we provide a bunch of 1-click cloud deployment templates that might serve your need if you require a low cost, on demand deployment. Just spin up a Vultr, AWS, Azure, or Linode virtual private server using the 1-click deployment links on the README, or below and you should be good to go, and at an affordable rate, too! 1-Click Deploy - Deploy BrowserBox to the cloud instantly! ✅ 🎉 🌀By far the easiest and most fun method, 1-Click-Deploy BrowserBox is ready to deploy today on a number of popular cloud providers. See below for details. Just click the links to start your deployment and you'll be up and running in no time! Note There's no licensing fees for personal use so all you pay are your own cloud costs. Just use one of the cloud providers below to start browsing the web from a safe distance! What are you waiting for? Give it a try now!
If you have issues with your deployment, it's a good idea check the cloud provider status page: |
