Does Partytown actually work with NextJS 13^ and Google Tag Manager?

I've followed the docs to the T. For the life of me, I can't get partytown to work with GTM in NextJS. I've also scoured the web looking for working examples and discussions about how other people have got it working. So far, I can't find any working examples, only discussions about how it doesn't work in NextJS no matter what people try.

So does partytown work in NextJS 13^, and is there a working example in existence that I can look at?

I've been asking on Discord for a week but no one seems able to help with the problem.

In the documentation, it says, "GA4 responses come with the correct CORS headers, so you will not have to proxy".

It has been my experience, and the experience of everyone else I've spoken with, that CORS is always an issue with Google Tag Manager. I've tried Partytown with both Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, both have the same issue.

To overcome the CORS issue I set up a reserve proxy. Now there seems to be ZERO performance benefit to using Google Tag Manager with Partytown. If anything, TBT is worse, especially on mobile.

Here are page speed insights for mobile which is worse compared to using next/script lazy loading GTM on the main thread.
