Ongoing Deployment and Release Engineering Support

Scope

• Test and deploy updates to open-vsx.org, on an average cadence of a release every 2 weeks.
• Debug service outages and propose fixes or other resolutions
• Resolve deployment vulnerabilities
• Otherwise make enhancements according to the priorities established by the Open VSX Working Group

This work is for the 2024 calendar year. Contractor will provide monthly progress reports, and both parties agree to adjust the specific outcomes as mutually decided, and both parties agree to work in good faith on a best-efforts basis to find practical outcomes.

Criteria

Candidates for this role should have:

• A least 3 years of professional experience in related technology used to support the operations of this project
• Examples of similar work performed related to this technical domain area.
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Preference given to candidates that rely on this OpenVSX project and have a vested interest in its success.
• Preference is also given to those with commit rights on relevant projects

Deliverables

All code, test cases, and documentation shall be contributed to the following Eclipse projects, in accordance with the Eclipse Development Process, and any work items related to Eclipse Foundation’s production OpenVSX system shall be ready to be installed and fully documented.
