problem printing desktop fonts

I have the fonts installed on my Mac. I am using Apple Pages to design a document. The fonts appear correctly on the screen, but when I print the file from Apple Pages or save as a PDF and print, the icons are distorted.

@kwrosenzweig sorry, but I really need that you fill out our bug report template because I cannot replicate.

This is the screenshot PDF exported by Pages 8.0 on macOS 10.14.5 with Font Awesome Free 5.9.0 (otf format, because the ttf files are optimized for the web and should not be used on desktop)

Otherwise, please provide all the information you can, including:

1. Font Awesome version
2. Specify if you are using FA Pro or FA Free
3. Confirm that you have installed the .otf and not the .ttf
4. macOS version
5. Pages version
6. Icons affected
7. Size of the distorted icons
8. Screenshot of the PDF with distorted icons

The link you keep giving me takes me to a normal issue page. There is no template.

The issue isn't on the screen, it is in the print out. I have installed the otf. I am using FA 5.9.0 desktop.

Max os 10.14.5
pages 8.0
fonts are 30 -25 points size

I am using the users icon, puzzle, phone, truck, network, any other.

I've printed directly from Pages, should I try something else? (i.e.: convert to pdf and then print the pdf)

@kwrosenzweig could you please clarify the issues you are experiencing?

Word for Mac, fonts don't work at all. I can see that I have chosen font awesome font and type the name of the font and the words do not turn into the font. When I copy from the cheat sheet, the icon is a square with a question mark in it.

In apple pages, the font show up not he screen when I type the name, but do not print properly. See previous image I posted.

We're having this issue with an HP LasterJet Color printer as well— it seems to have the latest firmware. Has anyone found a workaround?

Printing from Pages on Mac.

• FontAwesome Pro (5.15.1)
• macOS Big Sur 11.1
• Pages 10.3.9
• HP LaserJet Enterprise M652

Have tried printing directly from Pages, and also exporting to PDF and printing that way. The icons appear as small artifacts (small triangles/random shapes).

One way that works:

• Export PDF from Pages > Import into Adobe Illustrator > Print from Illustrator

Ahh, yes they are .otf, sorry for not documenting that earlier.

Could you please try with the TTF (just tu understand if they work) and with other icon fonts using the PUA?
