__SNOWPACK_ENV__ is not defined

Hi

So I have an issue when i build my app using @snowpack/plugin-webpack. Somehow SNOWPACK_ENV is not defined. If i build with out plugin-webpack everything works. Any idea what I could be missing out?

That's strange. The build files that you're seeing alway start with:

import __SNOWPACK_ENV__ from '../__snowpack__/env.js';
import.meta.env = __SNOWPACK_ENV__;

Can you share a stack trace? Does the failing build statement match that code snippet?

Yes! the two aren't meant to be used together. The webpack plugin does its own optimizations.

We could add some better docs here, and even warn if they are used together.

Workaround

Add the variable via webpack plugin : https://github.com/snowpackjs/snowpack/tree/main/plugins/plugin-webpack#extending-the-default-webpack-config

    new webpack.DefinePlugin({

        NODE_ENV: 'production',

When I try this I get an error "ReferenceError: webpack is not defined". How do I figux this?
