The Recent History box on the homepage in both General and Security perspectives has indeterminate/broken pagination.

Expected Behavior

Pagination is reliable and consistent

Current Behavior

Pagination is inconsistent and occasionally (eventually?) breaks completely

Possible Solution

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

  1. Have 11+ pages of events in the Recent History widget
  2. Start to click the next page button over and over
  3. Notice different numbers of items on different pages
  4. Eventually pagination should just stop working completely and say there is no recent activity to see (usually page 10-11 for me)

Context

Your Environment

A couple examples:

recent-activity-pagination2.mp4
recent-activity-pagination1.mp4
  • Graylog Version: 6.0.1

It seems that there is a problem with fetching deleted items, that's why we have unexpected holes in pagination.
