Indicate recurring events on homepage #73
Comments
@BenDMyers for this I was thinking maybe we can have a small logo image of each of the 3 recurring events (Some Antics, Single-Threaded, React Podcast) on the left across from the details button - image attached. don't know if having a ton of images will drastically slow the rendering of the page but I was thinking we should maybe start thinking about pagination at some point anyway? let me know what you think |
I think that'd be a really neat idea! One way we could conserve bandwidth might be using SVGs in place of image — I'd be happy to volunteer mine up for the cause! |
(My original intent for this issue was to have a "regular weekly schedule" block or something that would show off what we usually have going on - even when the individual event itself hasn't been added to the site.
But I'm open to other thoughts, too! |
oh ok yeah, I'll keep that in mind & find a place for it especially after adding featured (upcoming next) item |
would the SVGs be as easy to spin up as the icons you create out of thin air in the Discord? 😆 |
We have a few things that tend to occur at the same time every week — in particular our listening parties. Since we don't tend to plan much further out than a month out, this can make some dates seem more open than they are.
It might be helpful to have something on the homepage, maybe a banner or an aside or something, close to the upcoming events that shows off our regular weekly schedule.
