MudDataGrid SelectColumn with MultiSelection

I have a MudDataGrid that contains a SelectColumn (which doesn't appear to be well documented anywhere, although it appears in the examples) but it seems that it doesn't quite work correctly. If MultiSelection is false it still allows for multiple checkboxes to show as checked, but the SelectedItems property only has a single item in the collection. Additionally, only the checkbox in the SelectColumn allows to modify the SelectedItems. However, if I set MultiSelection to true, the collection of SelectedItems allows for more than one item in the collection, however it has the side effect that interacting with any control on the row toggles whether or not it is "selected".

• I would think that if MultiSelection is false, the SelectionColumn would use MudRadioButton and not MudCheckbox as is the general convention when options are mutually exclusive.
• I would also expect the behavior of interacting with the controls on row to be consistent regardless of the value of MultiSelection and that the Checkbox in the SelectColumn would be the only control that modifies the SelectedItems

Thanks for that information. It's not clear that binding to SelectedItems is required. However, I still have the issue that interacting with controls on the row toggles the selection when MultiSelection is true but not when it is false. Clicking on the text field is the same as clicking on the checkbox. Is there a way to disable this behavior? I want the checkbox and checkbox only to control the SelectedItems collection.

Is there a timeline for 6.9.0 release? I see that releases are relatively frequent.

Additionally, I looked through the code and it seems that this parameter only matters when MultiSelection is true. Is there a reason why the behavior of the row click is different between the two MultiSelection modes? One would think that changing this would merely allow for multiple items to be selected, and not modify their method of selection.

Indeed. It is only now that I notice that the MultiSelection behavior is different from MudTable.
In the current case of MudDataGrid, the checkboxes should be RadioButtons.

Ideally it should behave the same as MudTable, e.g. MultiSelection = false: No checkboxes.

I found a workaround for the current bug with the MultiSelection="false" scenario. The solution is to not use the SelectColumn element at all, but a TemplateColumn with a checkbox pseudo bound to the selected item. It was enough for my purposes when using the MudDataGrid in the single selection scenario.

@shadren Thanks for sharing your solution. In my scenario I need multiselect, so I will try to adapt your solution to my needs.
