Hiding a MudDrawer in CSS without leaving an empty space

I have a drawer that I hide using MudHidden but I am not satisfied with the responsiveness so I want to use CSS @media queries instead.

All I'm left with is an empty space where it should be collapsed entirely instead:

@media(max-width: 600px) {
  .mud-drawer {
    display: none !important;
  }
}

Unless I did not catch the question, the "open" property of the drawer is serving this purpose, isn't it ?

That property is useful if you need to control it in code but I really need to do it directly in CSS

It's because there is a margin-left: var(--mud-drawer-width, var(--mud-drawer-width-left)); style applied somewhere in the DOM to the visible element.
