Since the merge of #4067 the travic-ci linting tests seem to fail with an unhelpful 'ELIFECYCLE' message.

I received the info that the check fails because of new rules that nobody communicated to me; without telling me what exactly fails. @FinnStutzenstein will put in some documentation
