Module updater can offer a non-existant update

I don't know why this happens, but I sometimes get an alert that an update is available (in my case for the pass module) and then when I click update it says "Module already up-to-date".

Maybe this is related to the master/stable branch situation? Needs some better checking of the update checker logic.
