As the number of districts increases, real-time updates to the tooltip / sidebar become laggier

Compare using the rectangle tool in TX w/ 1 district vs 150 districts:
tx-1-district

tx-150-district

This shouldn't really be this expensive of an operation - note the sidebar changes are limited to the first two rows in both GIFs. Every blockgroup we're selecting is unassigned, and so the only thing in the sidebar that updates

I am not a developer but I made a github account just to complain about this. In the past I made maps of districts with roughly 100,000 people each and am now working on 50,000 person districts, and this bug makes states like California and Texas absolute hell to work with. Also I think something suddenly broke more, because all the sudden, not is it only terribly slow, but it doesn't let me save changes at all.
