Mailchimp has an idea:

screen shot 2014-12-17 at 4 22 02 pm

I mean, that would work, sorta...

We should probably use a custom code block + <img srcset>, on principle, even though srcset probably won't be supported by Outlook or Gmail... maybe ever? Email is truly the final frontier.

I was going to suggest using the images hosted on ricg.io but the header there doesn't appear to offer a hi-res version either?

    <header class="sitehead">
      <h1 class="logo"><img src="_img/ricg-logo.png" alt="Responsive Issues Community Group"></h1>
    </header>

If we want the fallback to be the 2x then that's possible too:

<img src="highres" srcset="lowres 1x, highres 2x" width height>

Went ahead and loaded a 2x image into there and clicked that checkbox. Homework for the next newsletter: try do it up right with srcset.
