I'm curious how CLIP performs when treated simply as a sentence embedding. Is it competitive?

Great question; I can't remember where but there was a guy experimenting with the text encoder for sentence embedding and he was not satisfied with the results (I think (I'm not sure) it was a github discussion in the original CLIP repository)
