Crashes when setting event color to red

I'm on Android 14 using Simple Calendar 6.23.1 Pro. I have a CalDAV calendar set up in DAVx5. I have modified the DAVx5 settings, setting "manage calendar colors" to "apps can modify calendar colors" and setting "support for event colors" to ON.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Select an event
2. Click on event color
3. Select red (top left option, see screenshot)

After following these steps, one of two things can happen:

1. The app crashes; OR
2. The event color gets reset immediately upon automatic sync

Important: this does only happen if I select the top left most color, in this case red. All the other colors work fine, including similar but different shades of red.
