Motivation

When starting a session for a particular commit, if there is no image for that commit, the only fallback is the base image. It would be nice to show the user a list of images that were built for other commits and let them pick from that list as well.

Proposal

If there is no image for the selected commit, show the user a list of commits/images and let them pick an image from that list.

We will have a different flow for defining session images in Renku 2.0.
I'm closing this issue. Feel free to open a new one if you think there are still reasons to consider a similar functionality.
