Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
If a query takes longer than the interval, it seems multiple queries are triggered?

Describe the solution you'd like
to be able to skip the query if one is currently running (and taking longer than the interval)

Describe alternatives you've considered
Timeout, however this will cancel the query resulting in data never being retrieved.
