Enabling "Disable grouping of content in webMAN Games" hides netserver games from the xmb list #1063

Im on the latest webman 1.47.46a with evilnat 4.91 cex and it seems to happen consistently. it also spams the commandline with GAMESI so I unchecked that within webman setup. The odd thing is that while the xmb doesnt see the games on net0, the sman gui and web browser does see the games. I have reloaded my xmb many times and refreshed content and each time it would either freeze the ps3 or not show the net0 games.

Please check if ps3netsrv is enabled in /setup.ps3 and the remote server is running and not bloqued by the firewall.

As you can see, the /net0 are showing fine on my system using the latest build (yours should work too).

This is my configuration:

the netserver is fine and working without issue. my settings look similar too. I have a small video I can share that showcases the issue better. could it be that one game list is updated but the other is not?

https://streamable.com/kskbg6 (ignore the middle bit, I was looking for the webman settings while confused)

The beginning of the video shows my net0 path in the sman gui, whereas near the end you see the list of games only being found in hdd

Your settings look good.

Make sure that ps3netsrv is not blocked by the firewall and responding correctly.

You can validate that the server is responding going to PS3 Internet Browser and entering the URL 0/net0 or http://0/net0

It should list your remote files.

  • If they show try executing prepISO again to re-scan the games. Other methods are SELECT+L3 or Refresh XML, then reload XMB.
  • If the don't show, you should check your network settings because there could be something wrong.

Right but like I said, it is working fine; its lists all the files i have shared in my netserver, I can play the games, they just dont show up in the xmb list. My firewall is fine and not blocking anything its just the games are not showing up specifically in the xmb list. they show up in the sman gui list and if i have the content grouped, it will show on the xmb list, if i refresh content scan, they do not show up and sometimes freezes my console

Honestly I don't know why it isn't showing the games in /net0. As you can see in the capture that I posted above the remote games are listed fine mixed with my local games with the grouping of content disabled.

Are your remote games GAMEI, PSXISO, PS2ISO, PSPISO, etc. I noticed that you have these options unchecked in /setup.ps3

Also make sure that the remote folders GAMES, PS3ISO, PSXISO, PS2ISO, etc. are in upper case.

Maybe you could show a screen capture of /net0 as seen by webMAN MOD from PS3 Internet Browser.

Another test that you can do is uncheck the option "Scan remote sub-directories" below the remote IP address in /setup.ps3

So my 2 folders are named GAMES, GAMESI, I have the GAMESI disabled in the video because I only have 2 games in that folder and I was seeing if that was the issue. I just tried that last test of unchecking the option "Scan remote sub-directories" and it did not help, my ps3 still freezes while attempting the scan for content. Maybe I should move to beta 6 of evilnat 4.91?

also here is my net0 from ps3 webman

Asumming that the folders MGS4 Demo and Resident Evil CVX are backups of PS3 discs, they should be moved inside GAMES folder.

/GAMES
/GAMES/MGS4 Demo and Resident Evil CVX
/GAMES/Resident Evil CVX

If these folders don't contain the structure /PS3_GAME/USRDIR/EBOOT.BIN they will not be listed.

Those are old folders with nothing in them anymore, I should have removed them for the screenshot but they live inside the correct folder now. is there a config i can manually edit to add the game paths to? it might be just I have too much content for webman to scan

The default settings should work. Try uninstalling webMAN MOD and resintall it again, then go to /setup.ps3

  • Check Disable content scanning at start up
  • Check Activate game/video streaming from PS3NETSRV#1
  • Enter the remote IP address of your ps3netsrv
  • Save
  • Click on Refresh button

If that doesn't work, try a previous version... I don't have other ideas since it's working fine one my system.

I just reinstalled webman and the issue persists, the netserver terminal is spamming GAMESI too

as you can see, I will try an older version next to see if it still happens

Also try a different version of ps3netsrv... just in case your issue comes from the server.

I have to reiterate that I don't have the issue in my system. Therefore I cannot fix anything until the root of the issue is identified.

So I tried a few things and could not get it to work, I updated to evilnat 4.91 beta 6 (installed it twice because I heard installing twice can solve issues?), I tried the 1.47.45 webMAN mod full ver and a newer netserver (my build was a year out, now I have got the latest). I also cleared the webMAN cache, removed my settings and deleted webMAN fully and the issue is still there once I reinstalled.

For now I will just uncheck the Disable grouping option in webman because it works fine in that configuration. I have a few more theories on how to solve it (maybe there is a game with a bad file name?) but ultimately I don't want to put much more time into this.

Thank you for your feedback. It must be something related with your catalog of games, because I couldn't reproduce your issue.

If you want to see all your games in a single list try using sLaunchMOD menu pressing L2+R2.
