As stated in the docs, for debian 11 we must use ubuntu focal debs. With version 5 (core 2.12) everything went ok.
Unfortunately there is no focal deb packages for ansible 6 (core 2.13), only deb packages for jammy, which are unusable as-is on debian 11, because of package compression.
Could anyone provide ansible 6 (& core 2.13) official packages for ubuntu focal ?

I'm also running into the same issue. Ansible v6.x are not available for Ubuntu 20.04 (Focal)

@dericcrago @Ompragash Any info on this?

hi @alexcernat & @gaby - apologies for the delayed response. The short answer is that ansible 6.x is based on ansible-core 2.13 (see matrix) and ansible-core 2.13 requires jinja2 >= 3.0.0 (see requirements.txt) and the system jinja2 is only >= 3 for jammy and later (see package search).

@gaby @alexcernat Currently, Ansible 6.x & 7.x is available only for Ubuntu Jammy and Kinetic releases as you can see in the compatibility chart #1. However, you can always try the Ansible 6 PyPI variant on the focal release and we'll soon update you on the possibility of adding Ansible 6 PPA for Focal.
