AsyncAPI open meeting, Tuesday Mar 3 2020 #316

This is the meeting for the AsyncAPI Special Interest Group (SIG). You're invited to join us and ask questions. The meeting takes place on alternate Tuesdays at 6 pm CET. Recordings from the previous meetings are available in this playlist on YouTube.

If you want to make proposals for the specification and/or the tooling, please reach out in our Slack workspace or just leave a comment below.

  • Link to contributor onboarding guide that is work in progress: Contributor Guide. Join this mailing list to get access to it and work with us on the content.
  1. Discuss separating existing templates from the generator repository and develop them separately - more details
  • Define an issue in GitHub.
  • Discovery of templates could be done using a specific tag in the package.json
  • Existing templates will also be separated from the generator repo
  • Before we split, we need to have support for the installation of remote templates
  • Nice to have filters and hooks in separate packages too

Issues created as a followup of the note: asyncapi/generator#235 and asyncapi/generator#237

  1. Discuss extending test spec in the generator with additional specification fields for new features added to the templates - more details
  • Have a asyncapi file that covers most of features that we can always try out with templates.
  • Simplify current streetlight doc with dummy content, and extend in future
  • Add proper info to contribution guide to keep in mind file extension in PR
