Hi,

I see a lot of past PRs and issues about OpenStack support that are closed. Is it still in the plan to add to backup gem?

I think a workaround is to use Cloudfiles, but there's some differences between both providers.

Thanks

I personally don't use openstack and the PRs I think were for older versions of the gem so they can't be merged. I'm also a bit hesitant nowadays to merge new things as it creates more dependencies for providers not everyone uses.

This PR target the new version of backup gem : #801 (some conflict need to be solve).
I think it can be great to support it, some huge Europeen Provider use it (https://www.ovh.com/us/public-cloud/storage/object-storage).
I will try to take the time to test the PR

I'll happily fix the PR if someone is willing to take a look at it. Just ping me.

it creates more dependencies for providers not everyone uses.
Not everyone uses AWS neither :)

As a sidenote, my fork with OpenStack support has been used in prod for about 6 months now without any issues so far.
