[Feature] Gitea and other private repos #59

Adding native Gitea support to GitNoter:Thanks for your quick response in adding the enhancement tag on this project @vivekweb2013 :) Adding Gitea support is of invaluable import, since GitHub is not actually a very trusted forge for most FOSS and Privacy oriented individuals and corporations. Whereas git-noter is FOSS, and so is Gitea, GitHub is not, and although it is a great closed source platform, not having native support for Gitea (and others, actually, like GitLab) prevents many folks from adopting this great software you've created. I know many people will be excited to know that git-noter will work with their own Git forges, especially Gitea, but even simple, standard, local git services running on their own machines. You've created a wonderful thing here. I'll post a follow up on Hacker News ;) ⛵ . |
@tallship yes I agree with you & I'll take this on priority. thanks |
Hi @vivekweb2013 :) I wanted to let you know that BatNoter has really been a joy to use and is part of my regular workflow nowadays... but only on GitHub, while I still use a couple of self-hosted Gitea installations as my primary. Have you been able to make much progress on making this feature request possible? Judging by the reaction responses, this seems to be a very popular idea that could really expand the adoption of BatNoter. Anyway, I just wanted to circle back through and check on when it might be possible to use with Gitea, or if there's some roadblock that might be addressed through raising a greater level of awareness in the community to assist. |
Add in the ability to setup gitnoter with 3rd party git services, such as Gitea. Batnoter should be able to work without an internet connection when setup to use a 3rd party git service.
