Describe the Bug

capture WMssBd_optimized

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open the start demo
  2. Activate connect tool
  3. Drag on empty canvas
  4. See interesting label highlight effects happen

Expected Behavior

Labels do not highlight unnecessarily and/or highlight transports a clear meaning to me.

Environment

  • Browser: Chrome 120
  • OS: Linux
  • Library version: v17.0.0, demo.bpmn.io
