I am unable to generate a Database from the sqlDelight block.

Hey folks, I'm asking this as a question instead of filing an issue because I was working off an example repo that does not have this issue so I assume I have a bad configuration. I cannot reference the named database generated from Sqldelight and it does not appear to be generated when following the steps to setup a project. In my own project this was a problem so I created a new one through Android Studio Bumblebee Patch 1 and I have the same problem.

sqldelight {
    database("AppDatabase") {
        packageName = "com.kelvinharron.sqldelighttest"
    }
}

I have defined the following dependencies:

• com.squareup.sqldelight:gradle-plugin:1.5.3 for gradlePlugin.
• com.squareup.sqldelight:runtime:1.5.3 for commonMain
• com.squareup.sqldelight:android-driver:1.5.3 for androidMain
• com.squareup.sqldelight:native-driver:1.5.3 for iOSMain.

I referenced this tutorial from Kotlin which is last updated October 2021 and looking at the cashApp tutorials, the key difference I see is the use of groovy and the apply plugin immediately after declaring the gradle plugin. I would appreciate if someone could keep me right on this as I can't figure it out. Thank you.

nothing will get generated until theres some sql in .sq files

Thank you @AlecStrong this was the solution! I did need to create new directories from the commonMain directory to match the package name provided in the sqlDelight { block. I'll see who I can reach out to in order to update this as I expect newcomers to struggle.

For anyone having the same issue, ensure your Table.sq file is placed in a directroy matching the package structure as shown below:
