Describe the bug

I run cataclysm-tiles or cataclysm-launcher, and it opens a black window that never changes. I tried on catapult, with .6.0, with latest experimental, nothing changed. The same issue does not happen in cataclysm: dark days ahead.
I run linux mint 21.3 cinnamon.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Download from the releases page.
  2. Attempt to run cataclysm-tiles or cataclysm-launcher
  3. Observe as a black window opens, never changes, and linux is giving you "not responding" messages

Versions and configuration

OS: Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.3. Nvidia GPU.

Additional context

There is no crash.log file and debug.log is empty.

can you run cataclysm in cli and check the output message?

Running the curses version works, only the tiles one seems to have this issue.

Oh, and running tiles by opening a terminal and typing ./cataclysm gives me nothing. As in, an empty line that, like the window itself, never changes. Running the windows version with Bottles works completely fine, though.

I also run linux (Kubuntu 23.10), so this sounds really odd.

That's super odd, as I imagine if you were missing the required libraries you wouldn't even get the screen.
