📃 Iteration 52 roadmap

This post outlines our targets for the upcoming iteration. The goal is to provide a summary of where we are going.

New features / enhancements

• Support for advanced lists (document lists) - merged 🎉
• Support for the lock mechanism for the Editor#isReadOnly property - merged 🎉
• Replacement for the CKEditor 4's styles dropdown feature - merged 🎉
• Revision history efficiency improvements - merged 🎉
• DLLs support for revision history - merged 🎉
• Documentation revamp - re-organized the installation section and added two new sections - updating and support - merged 🎉
• Upgrade to PostCSS 8 - merged 🎉
• The <CKEditor> component should work with React 18 - merged 🎉
• Document storage support for the revision history feature

Bug fixes

• Certain markup breaks the editor when using the GHS feature - merged 🎉
• Vue integration - The CKEditor instance will not be converted to a proxy - merged 🎉

Improvements in dev-tools

• Upgrade to Karma 6 in the testing environment - merged 🎉
• Migration to the Transifex API 3.0 due to end of support for the previous versions - merged 🎉
• Introduce a new rule called ckeditor5-rules/license-header for both: eslint and stylelint static analysis tools for checking license headers in CKEditor 5 code - merged 🎉

Finally, some more bug fixes and minor improvements are planned for the 52nd iteration. See the list of issues closed in the current iteration for more details.

Dates

The code freeze is planned for April 4th, 2022, followed by releasing npm packages on April 12th, 2022.

Please keep in mind that these plans are subject to change, and even though we put all our energy into delivering all the items mentioned above, the iteration plan may change at any point.

We will be releasing version 34.0.0 today. I wrote the wrong date. Let me fix it. Sorry.
