Set required(false) by default for all arguments

I am trying to simplify my argument parsing in clap.
I want to do something like this:

			arg!(-i --interval <SECS> "Seconds to wait between updates, 0 only executes once")
				.required(false)
				.default_value(DEFAULT_INTERVAL)
				.value_parser(value_parser!(f64)),

However, most of my arguments are not required (and have a default value), but I don't want to write required(false) every time. Is there an easy way to set required(false) as default for all arguments?

clap::arg! is a subset of the functionality in the old clap::clap_app! macro. In doing so, we hadn't yet implemented all of the behavior for specifying optional arguments. This would have been done by wrapping it in [].

However, outside of the context of clap_app!, it might make sense to not require a wrapping [] but to require people to pass in required(true).

Feel free to create an issue. This will be a breaking change. I am close to wrapping up clap 4.0 and if we miss that window, will have to wait until 5.0 if we move forward with this.

After reading my post again, I realize that my wording is not entirely accurate. I mean: Most of my options (option = --option, argument to an option = --option <argument>) are not required, because I specify default values (what I would call arguments here) for the options. Does this change anything about my original question?
