@code-asher cut the 4.0.2 release last week. Afterwards, we discussed how the release process could use some cleanup.

Issues

Here's a short list of things we could fix or improve:

  • remove all uses of download_artifact (flakey)
  • fix brew-bump to actually work (it's never worked)
  • automate updating the package on AUR
  • publish dev/beta builds to docker
  • publish dev/beta builds to homebrew
  • figure out a better way to attach assets to release
  • test cross-compile builds with qemu to prevent issues like [Bug]: Cannot find module '@node-rs/argon2-linux-arm64-gnu' #4804
