Currently I'm studying the prometheus support in coturn. Especially I wonder, what the metrics really mean, what qualitative statements one may obtain from it. E.g. "Represents finished sessions received packets" and "Represents finished sessions peer received packets" as well as "Represents finished sessions sent packets" and "Represents finished sessions peer sent packets" is not clear, what this really means. What are the scenarios for "received" and "received peer" stats? Also I guess "packets" are not packets in the network/IP context, but rather "messages" exchanged between the endpoints consisting of 1 or more IP packets? Would be really nice, if anybody could shed some light on the metrics.
