how to change public and private keys

Hello, I want to change the public and private keys of the Cowrie honeypot to match those of the real protected virtual machine. Besides changing the *_key and *_key.pub files under the cowrie/var/lib/cowrie directory, do I need to change anything else? I've changed the aforementioned files, but I can't find the Cowrie service on port 2222 anymore.

Changing the files should be sufficient. Did you check the log files for any errors?
