Bug Report

Wayland Problems:

In Gnome 44.4, the sticky window of the pop-up menu spawns behind the main window. This issue is specific to Gnome and does not occur under wlroots.

(You may notice that I'm using a tiling extension with borders in the recording, but I tested it without, and the issue persists, indicating it's unrelated.)

Missing Features

Copy Source Text to Clipboard:

While the button to copy the source text to the clipboard exists, it lacks a corresponding hotkey. Currently, we only have a hotkey for copying the translation.

Enhancement Requests:

Add an option to set the pop-up window as floating rather than a sticky window.

Add an option to prevent the pop-up window from closing when losing focus.

I would appretiate if you fill separate issues instead of a big one.

It's a Gnome or Qt bug, I can't control how windows are managed.

Thanks! We probably could add it.

Any update on it? i still cannot get the pop-up window to work properly without it... (Only the "Main Window Mode")

Add an option to prevent the pop-up window from closing when losing focus.

Why? You will be unable to close popup window this way.

Any update on it?

Both Shatur and I doesn't use GNOME or any of it's deriatives. PRs are welcomed.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay; it's been quite a busy week.

Regarding GNOME/Qt, it appears that the issue has already been fixed in GNOME 45 or the latest Qt update. Shatur was correct about that.

Now, concerning the popup window closing, this isn't specifically a GNOME issue; it's more of a general window manager issue. The window manager recognizes the popup window as a actual window entity and may not spawn it where your mouse is, causing it to close instantaneously. This is why I suggested adding an option to prevent the popup window from closing when losing focus. Such an option would ensure that there's always a way to address this issue when it occurs.

As for pull requests, I'm not a developer myself, so I'm unable to do the job.
