after curvenote pull output based image figure is not present on PDF or tex

To reproduce:

• initialise a local project using curvenote to pull from https://curvenote.com/@stevejpurves/la-palma-earthquakes/la-palma-eruption-2022-paper
• edit content/la-palma-earthquakes/la-palma-eruption-2022.paper.tex to add a pdf+tex export
• build the pdf

The resulting PDF does not contain the image from for the figure, instead the text/plain output is shown.
The cross reference the figure is broken.
Examining the tex the output is represented as an mdast fragment, but there is no name attibute or any way to preserve the cross reference.
