Context
Decidim is undergoing a redesign which implies relevant changes in many fronts: visual design, navigation structure, front-end framework change, and interaction changes in some modules. You can follow the process, and see a prototype.
The implementation of the redesign has started recently.
Process
For the redesign process and to allow the migration of the design, the redesign team have implemented a process and system that allows the sequential design migration of different pages and modules, but not breaking the current design.
Currently, the redesign team is implementing the redesign in the
feature/redesign
branch.develop
is periodically merged intofeature/redesign
.Once the 0.27 version is released (end of September 2022), we'll merge
feature/redesign
intodevelop
, and the redesign base branch will bedevelop
.The next release, 0.28, will be the front redesign release, and the plan is to do it in March 2023.
So after the 0.27 release, all contributions will have to take into account the redesign. There won't be a release with the old design, so it won't make sense to work over the current (soon, old) design.
ℹ️ PRs will have to be done over the redesign for them to be considered.
FAQs
How I activate the redesign in my development app?
See how to activate the redesign and more details about file names, the implementation and so on in the main PR: #9229
Which pages/modules are already migrated?
You can see all the migrated sections and also the work in progress by searching through the "contract: redesign" label.
I want to contribute to a module which is not yet migrated
In this case, we kindly ask you to have patience, and wait a couple of months (as maximum) until we've reached the module.
