Hi I'm also having this issue, I think it's related to the new live preview feature added with some recent update, it changed how the editor works.

Using legacy editor fixes it for me. You can activate it by going into Settings > Editor > General and enable "Use legacy editor"
It's explained in this post: https://help.obsidian.md/Live+preview+update#Wait+I'm+not+ready+to+switch

Aha, yes, I'm using the latest editor. I'll keep an eye out for updates on a fix for this.

Thanks for the explanation!

appears to be broken since most recent update with obsidian. Works fine in legacy

would like to see a fix, i set the hotkey to ctrl+shift+v to use it with live preview but would prefer not having that hotkey being taken up

I have the same issue on latest versions (MacOS) but I can workaround it by undo and paste again... annoying but it works
