Problem to be solved
Currently a user can configure a domain when creating an application on Devopness, limited to one domain per application.
This approach brings a few problems:
app.example.com
andstorybook.example.com
could be two virtual hosts loading files from an application that was built from repositoryexample/web-app
Why does this matter?
Configure NGINX virtual hosts is a complex and time consuming task to be done though command line via an SSH terminal.
Bringing a simplified way to configure NGINX virtual hosts in Devopness web app will help our users to save time and prevent mistakes when setting up virtual hosts.
Moreover, we can help users to save build time by not requiring them to create, manage and deploy one application per virtual host, making their multiple sub-domains consistent and loading files from a same build/tag/branch/commit.
Describe the solution you'd like.
Must have
location
blocks,add_header X-Frame-Options
,add_header X-XSS-Protection
,add_header X-Content-Type-Options
,location = /favicon.ico
,location = /robots.txt
, etcNice to have
my-subdomain.example.com
could load a simple web page to tell users that that virtual host is configured and working as expectedAdditional context
