I experience the same issue on my MSI modern PR63.

All other features seem to work properly

I don't really know anything about cpp but in operate.cpp decided to store the value of shiftModeAdresss in an int and look at it in debug after the switch changes the value.

Seems that on my model, it was changed to 64 (0x40) so when it looks for... I think it was 208, 209, and 210? it doesn't see anything so the field stays greyed out.

when I adjusted my shiftmode0, 2, and 3 to 0x40, 0x41, and 0x42 respectively I managed to gain access to the menu, however as far as I could tell the selections weren't having any effect (and I think the menu may have greyed out after building, but I cant be sure since I don't generally handle these types of projects), not that I'm surprised as the values probably need to be adjusted elsewhere, anyways.
