Dropwizard 2.1.x EOL: January 31, 2024

Hey folks,

Dropwizard 2.1.0 was released almost 18 months ago on May 23, 2023.

With Dropwizard 3.0.x (javax.*) and Dropwizard 4.0.x (jakarta.*), there is not only one but actually two stable successors and we think it is time to send Dropwizard 2.x into the sunset.

ℹ️ The official end of life for Dropwizard 2.1.x is January 31, 2024.

Yes, that's exactly one year after the Dropwizard 2.0.x EOL. 😉

While this date is not too far into the future, we think that the migration effort to Dropwizard 3.0.x is small enough so that it can be done on relatively short notice.

Migrating to Dropwizard 4.0.x is more involved, but you'll be well prepared for the future and have less effort migrating to Dropwizard 5.x and later.
