Description

Since some time ago (maybe 2 or 3 months) I started getting ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS when accessing Google Mail on Vivaldi. Other Google services are not affected.

Today, after investigating this issue (maybe for the 5th time since it started) and following the advice from [1], I went disabling/enabling my extensions. After disabling only DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials, I could login on Google Mail as usual. So DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials is the cause of the ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Start Vivaldi browser
  2. Install and enable DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials
  3. Log into Google Mail

Expected behavior:

Be able to log in Google Mail.

Actual behavior:

Can't log in Google Mail because of ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS error.

Versions

  • Extension: 2024.1.19
  • Browser: Vivaldi 6.5.3206.63 (Stable channel) stable (64-bit)
  • OS: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS

Additional Information

TBH, I don't expect this issue to be easily reproducible. After disabling/enabling the extension, I couldn't reproduce the issue myself. But I think it makes sense to report, since searching for ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS here in Issues resulted in no match.
