after falsely reporting #833, i discovered the underlying issue was actually in rollup-plugin-dts (Swatinem/rollup-plugin-dts#248) and subsequently open a PR to fix it (Swatinem/rollup-plugin-dts#249)
just gotta bump the version here and watch mode should work pretty flawlessly for
.d.tsbuilds now!
