Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable the "Enable rich text editor" in labs settings
  2. Type some text and format it
  3. Click the arrow in the top left to return to the room list
  4. Click on the room you were just in
  5. See that the formatting in your message is lost

You can see the behaviour in the below video:

Outcome

What did you expect?

The formatting of my draft message to remain.

My hard work is all gone!
