Element Desktop doesn't remember the state of the camera #1515

Steps to reproduce

  1. Turn off the camera in the lobby of an Element Call video room
  2. Enter the video room
  3. Exit the video room
  4. Choose another video room
  5. The camera is turned on by default again

Outcome

What did you expect?

The camera should stay disabled until I enable it the next time.

What happened instead?

The camera was enabled by default.

Arch Linux

Application version

Element version: 1.11.58 Crypto version: Rust SDK 0.7.0 (691ec63), Vodozemac 0.5.0

How did you install the app?

pacman (https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/element-desktop/)

Homeserver

Synapse 1.101.0

Will you send logs?

Yes

I can't seem to send logs. (Failed to send logs: HTTP 500)

If needed, I'm willing to upload the logs somewhere manually

@t3chguy This also happens on Windows 10 using the official nightly binaries.

@t3chguy This also happens on develop.element.io --> element web issue. Could you maybe transfer it?

Sounds like an Element Call issue then rather than an Element Web/Desktop one

Maybe, but afaik the lobby before joining the call is handled by element web, I'm talking about the lobby.

No, the Lobby is an iframe.

Alright, then element-hq/element-web#27030 should also be an element call issue? @t3chguy
