Eslint keeps telling me I'm using eslint.config.js but I use eslintrc

I'm upgrading from eslint v8 to v9. I have eslint v9.0.0 installed. I'm using a .eslintrc.cjs file. I'm running:

eslint --ext .js,.vue resources/js/ --fix

But it gives me:

Invalid option '--ext' - perhaps you meant '-c'?
You're using eslint.config.js, some command line flags are no longer available. Please see https://eslint.org/docs/latest/use/command-line-interface for details.

What am I doing wrong? I don't use eslint.config.js and have no idea why it's saying that. The upgrade docs or command line docs aren't immediately clear what I'm missing.

Nvm, figured out I need to use ESLINT_USE_FLAT_CONFIG: https://eslint.org/docs/latest/use/migrate-to-9.0.0#-new-default-config-format-eslintconfigjs
