  • Docs: remove configuring.md #14036 needs to be merged before running this release.
  • Once the site is updated, play around with the new configuring docs to make sure redirects are working properly.

https://jenkins.eslint.org is currently throwing 504 Gateway Timeout, and I don't have access to resuscitate it yet, so the release will not be going out tonight. Once Jenkins is back up, everything should be ready to immediately kick off the release. We should highlight the revamped configuration docs in the release notes.

ESLint v7.19.0 has been released: https://eslint.org/blog/2021/01/eslint-v7.19.0-released. I'll check back Monday to see if we need to do a patch release. Until then, please merge only semver-patch changes.

Definitely 7.19.0 needs a patch ... See #2986

@crystalfp #2986 was merged a long time ago, did you mean something else?

Sorry, copied the issue number from another project. I was referring to # 2986 of typescript-eslint /
typescript-eslint.

Thanks for the info!

Regarding typescript-eslint/typescript-eslint#2986, the @typescript-eslint/no-extra-parens rule should be updated, and the issue is already marked as something that should be fixed in @typescript-eslint/eslint-plugin. Since the rule wraps the corresponding core rule, it needs to be updated after certain kind of changes in the core rule.

Perfect! In the meantime I downgraded eslint to 7.18.0 to be able to work.
Thanks again!

We had one regression reported in #14058. It was caught by the author of the PR that touched that behavior and hasn't received any 👍s, so the impact appears to be negligible. We don't need to revert it and do a patch release, so we can wait until a full fix is available and include it in a future release.

This concludes the v7.19.0 release process. You may resume merging semver-minor PRs.
