APRIL-JUNE 2021 UPDATESOver the last few months we've reviewed illustrations with stakeholders of Fairlearn, volunteers on the community calls, and internal Diversity & Inclusion groups at Microsoft. April: MoodboardsMSFT_Fairlearn-MoodBoards_Styleframes_V1D.pptx May: V1 ExplorationsMSFT_Fairlearn_Styleframes_V2.pptx “In the room” we did not have a diverse group: female to male ratio was way off, and a majority of the group was white. We also didn’t have anyone representing LGBTQ. We came to the consensus that this will need a much broader audience review. We added 2 variations to review with a broader audience: Fairlearn Illustrations V2.pptx Key Takeaways
From Microsoft internal D&I groups:
Next Steps
June: SketchesMSR FairLearn_Layout Skeleton and Character Designs.pdf Explorations based on a "starter" matrix of possibilities recommended by Fairlearn leaders and community: 5 character ethnicities
2-3 variations for each character

DECEMBER 2021: V1 Illustrations delivered and ready!@MiroDudik @mmadaio @LeJit @hildeweerts @adrinjalali @lisavibanez @riedgar-ms @romanlutz and all: A new issue has been created with all assets attached: I have not noted any theming/color updates as we have a few options to choose from — this can be finalized once we start the redesign. In the meantime, in the issue I've specified where we can place some of these assets on our existing homepage. New color explorations: Thanks all for the awesome feedback cycles to get us to our V1! |
