current month forced to update when showMonths > 1

When showMonths > 1, selecting a date in the next year will cause the current month to update, which causes the interface to jump unexpectedly. In the following example, select a date in Jan or Feb to see the jump:

It's disorienting to the user to have the months update when selecting a date. Is there an option to disable this "auto advance" feature, when displaying multiple months?
