How to detect hard coded strings in the codebase, similar to "eslint-plugin-i18next"

Hi, I want to find a way to detect hard coded strings that are rendered on the screen, but not localized. An example of this:

const displayPrice = price + ' per ' + dateRange;
return <Text>{displayPrice}</Text>

I found a plugin eslint-plugin-i18next that detects all strings with some options for ignoring texts and properties. I could achieve a decent result, but the ignored list is long and hard to maintain. So I would like to know if anyone has faced the same issue? What was your solution?

I don't think there's a blanket plugin for that as you mentioned it results in a ton of false positive

Thank you, sad to know there's no better answer for a seemingly common issue. I settled with a basic react/jsx-no-literals rules, and use a pseudo language to help testing the strings for localization manually.

Hi @greengrass17 , how did you inject pseudo-language? I find it impossible/non-trivial as it always fallback to defaultMessage which is the source string
