Is it possible to disable number converting in plural message?

I want to keep the content of number-like string value.

For examples:

import IntlMessageFormat from 'intl-messageformat';

const message = new IntlMessageFormat(
  'Playing at {num, plural, one {# time} other {# times}} speed',
  'en-US',
);

console.log(message.format({ num: '1.0' }));
console.log(message.format({ num: '1.5' }));
console.log(message.format({ num: '2.0' }));

output:

Playing at 1 time speed
Playing at 1.5 times speed
Playing at 2 times speed

expected:

Playing at 1.0 time speed
Playing at 1.5 times speed
Playing at 2.0 times speed

you need to explicitly specify the number format options. Decimals do affect plural rules in some languages

I agree with you, but in this "playback speed" case, there is no decimal separator. more like a edge case.

in 1.25 the . is the decimal separator. It's not an edge case. If you go to youtube in Vietnam it's 1,25, not 1.25.

Thanks for your reply. I misunderstood that you mean 1,000.

But I tried to change region to Vietnam, it also show .:

But there are no 1.0 2.0 pad end zeros, so maybe I need to convince UX colleagues :) .
